Manufacturing Financial Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the manufacturing financial database, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Implement new product entries as necessary.
  • Define standards for raw materials and trade items where applicable.
  • Set benchmarks for purchased finished goods.
  • Determine production rates for all manufactured items.
  • Establish standard costs and routing for each product line.
  • Define departmental labor and overhead cost rates.
  • Lead initiatives to measure and report on cost reduction efforts within the facility.
  • Facilitate cost reduction meetings to drive financial efficiency.
  • Share financial performance results with plant leadership and staff.
  • Prepare monthly sales forecasts and profit and loss statements.
  • Generate necessary journal entries for month-end financial closure.
  • Address and resolve discrepancies in financial transactions and reports.
  • Compile various financial reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Review and produce daily efficiency and material usage reports.
  • Coordinate and supervise annual physical inventory counts.
  • Prepare monthly journal vouchers for accruals and expense accounts.
  • Develop the annual budget and engage in the yearly audit process.
  • Participate in monthly corporate accounting discussions.
  • Collaborate with the corporate operations accounting team to support the plant with periodic reporting, month-end closure, and ad hoc financial inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience or training.
  • Prior experience as a Plant Controller in the automotive or manufacturing sectors is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Familiarity with accounting software, database management, manufacturing systems, and payroll applications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook—as well as Manufacturing ERP systems (such as Oracle) and Hyperion.
