Retirement Plan Administrator Job Description

Mechanics Bank is seeking a skilled Retirement Plan Administrator to oversee the administration of various retirement accounts, including 401(k), Defined Benefit, and IRA accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer account set-up and termination, contributions and distributions, asset purchases and sales, trust accounting statement production, IRS reporting, payment of fees, and participant loans.
  • Ensure adherence to minimum distribution requirements policies and procedures.
  • Verify accuracy of all IRS reporting documents for tax reporting.
  • Manage client review process and client experience.
  • Serve as a point of contact for plan sponsors, plan actuaries, attorneys, clients, and vendors.
  • Identify and introduce potential business clients to Mechanics Bank's small business retirement services solution.
  • Assist plan retirees and term vested participants with plan benefit options.
Requirements:
  • 2-year Associate's Degree highly preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 3 years of related experience in a financial institution required.
  • Charter Retirement Specialist (CRPS) or equivalent certification.
  • IRA Specialist certification (CISP).
  • Customer Service experience preferred.

Pay Range: $25-36 hourly. Final compensation package will be determined by work experience, education, and/or skill level of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
