Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Engineer to join our team at the Federal Aviation Administration. As a key member of our Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Integration Office, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of projects and programs related to UAS integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced engineering principles and techniques to identify challenges in aviation operations and technologies, and make recommendations to improve operations.
  • Develop and implement solutions to complex problems related to UAS integration, including system design and integration, research, and project management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement policies, procedures, and regulations related to UAS operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to lower-level staff, and resolve technical problems without management intervention.
  • Develop and recommend techniques to address problem situations, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Requirements
  • Must have a degree in engineering from an accredited institution, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates a thorough knowledge of engineering principles and techniques.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H, FG/GS-12 in the Federal Service, including experience applying engineering methods and techniques to identify challenges in aviation operations and technologies.
