We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Safety Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems USA. As a key member of our Strategic Systems Program, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our nuclear weapon systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement system safety project plans and schedules in accordance with customer objectives and priorities
  • Ensure all responsible projects are executed within approved program management processes and contractual requirements
  • Collaborate with a team of technical experts and junior engineers/technicians to identify hazards, assess and mitigate risk
  • Leverage Model Based Systems Engineering at various design phases of a program to facilitate early risk mitigation
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including Government personnel, contractors, and vendors, to ensure effective communication and collaboration

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field and at least 4 to 6 years related work experience or a Master's Degree and 2 to 4 years of related work experience
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to manage programmatic schedules and drive performance to meet contract deliverables
  • Understanding of nuclear weapon system safety and command safety policy and requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Significant experience within the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Office and the Trident II D5 Strategic Weapon System (SWS)
  • Demonstrated ability to grow program area
  • Experience with the development and execution of Model Based Systems Engineering practices
