Job Title: Control Design Automation Engineer

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Control Design Automation Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing and implementing advanced control systems for our reusable launch vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement model-based design frameworks for launch vehicle control applications
  • Lead the development of architectures and approaches for automating design, test, verification, and validation of control systems
  • Collaborate with design teams to improve engineering efficiency and quality
  • Design and implement autonomous control applications to improve process efficiency
  • Provide support to test teams to assist in gaining insight and knowledge into development framework evolution
Requirements:
  • Proven ability to work and innovate independently
  • Advanced Simulink development skills
  • Significant experience developing control systems in a Model-Based Design framework
  • Strong engineering fundamentals across fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, propulsion, and mechanical systems
  • Proven experience developing software applications in a team environment
  • B.S. or higher in Aerospace Engineering or related engineering field (M.S. preferred)
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineering leadership and mentorship experience
  • Project management experience
  • Experience developing rockets, missiles, or other complex aerospace, automotive, or marine vehicle systems
  • Experience with operations and testing of aerospace or similar vehicles
