Role Summary:
  • The Control Systems Automation Specialist plays a vital role within the Engineered-to-Order (ETO) and Modernization divisions, dedicated to providing bespoke software and hardware solutions tailored to client specifications.
  • This position involves collaboration with software, electrical, and field engineers to ensure effective commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of material handling systems.
  • Customization: Modify existing software frameworks and standards to develop unique solutions for diverse applications, ensuring client satisfaction and peak performance.
  • Support: Engage in factory acceptance testing, commissioning, and ongoing support of our systems, utilizing your expertise in PLC software to resolve any challenges.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recognize areas for enhancement and communicate findings to management, aiding in the continuous development of our products and services.
  • Supplier Oversight: Oversee suppliers of peripheral automation equipment, keeping updated on the latest technologies and identifying potential solutions for obsolescence.
  • Troubleshooting: Work alongside other engineers and technicians to address control, software, or automation challenges, both in-house and at client locations, which may require domestic and international travel.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in software, electrical systems, or automation.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of programming experience with Siemens PLC platforms and Siemens HMI programming.
  • Additional Skills:
    • Familiarity with variable frequency drives and control systems for material handling systems is advantageous.
    • Understanding of NEC electrical code and OSHA safety standards is crucial.
    • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
