This position reports to

Automation Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this position, you will have the chance to assist in defining production processes to ensure the optimization of cost, quality, and timely delivery of products. Each day, you will engage in defining sequences, calculating cycle times, and analyzing the operational phases of new production processes and products. You will also demonstrate your expertise by sharing cycle time data with internal teams. The work model for this role is: #LI-Onsite. This role contributes to the Motion Drive Products division. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Automation - Support the deployment, installation, and programming of Vision Systems, SCADA, PLC Controls, Conveyor Automation, Digital Torque Systems, Robotics, and more.
• Mechanical - A solid foundation in mechanical engineering is essential to assist with the installation of various automation equipment on the production line.
• Safety / Quality - Contribute to the establishment of safe automation practices while achieving the desired productivity and quality output.
• Project Management - This role will be dynamic and require balancing tasks from multiple projects simultaneously. Effective time management and prioritization will be crucial.

Qualifications for the role
  • Associate's degree in Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering/science field
  • 4+ years of experience in Controls, Systems, and/or Automation
  • Strong knowledge of Vision systems, digital torque systems, programmable logic controls, robotics, and other automation technologies
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Concepts
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivated, customer-oriented, capable of multitasking, and managing stress effectively
  • Candidates must possess work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the US.
