Job Summary

The Automation Engineering Specialist will work with the Engineered-to-Order (ETO) and Modernization groups to support customers by implementing software and hardware solutions that meet contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customize crane controls using existing software modules and standards from global automation engineering for various applications.
  • Support factory acceptance, commissioning, and life cycle of customer material handling equipment in ETO and Modernization groups.
  • Report improvement findings to Manager, Automation Engineering.
  • Monitor suppliers of automation peripheral equipment and develop replacement of obsolete discrete devices.
  • Participate in resolving control/software/automation problems by working with other engineers and service technicians.
  • Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot problems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 1-3 years of programming experience in Siemens PLC platform and Siemens HMI programming.
  • Knowledge of setting up variable frequency drives and control systems for material handling devices.
  • Knowledge of NEC electrical code and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
