POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Client Relationship Specialist at Provident Bank, your primary responsibility is to cultivate and maintain relationships with clients and potential clients. This role involves understanding, identifying, and addressing their financial requirements while ensuring a positive experience during every interaction at the branch.

The Client Relationship Specialist position is multifaceted, encompassing both transactional and sales-oriented tasks. Daily responsibilities may shift based on the branch's needs. Key duties include responding to client inquiries by processing various financial transactions, such as account openings, cross-selling services, conducting tele-consultations, and managing a personal portfolio of clients. You will also assist with account servicing, check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, loan payments, and conducting needs assessments for clients. Additionally, you may investigate and resolve account-related issues and promote organizational products and services by referring clients to other departments as necessary.

This role is accountable for achieving sales targets, which encompass deposit, loan, and revenue goals, while generating sales leads and referrals. You will also assist the Assistant Branch Manager with daily operational tasks, end-of-day functions, and reporting in accordance with branch policies and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales referrals and cross-selling objectives by understanding the features and benefits of all products and services to meet client needs.
  • Promote bank offerings and address client inquiries regarding accounts or other banking services.
  • Actively refer clients for commercial products or services to the branch manager or relevant business partners.
  • Surpass client expectations through proactive engagement and dedication to fostering strong client relationships.
  • Support the Bank's Corporate Sales Program by conducting consultative needs assessments, developing new client relationships, and expanding existing ones.

Service Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities with clients and potential clients through effective lobby management.
  • Assist clients with digital banking technologies and provide referrals to other business lines.
  • Maintain cost efficiency to achieve branch goals while ensuring high-quality customer service and adherence to sales and brand standards.
  • Execute expectations for delivering a positive customer service experience.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Ensure operational integrity and financial soundness in compliance with the Bank's policies and applicable regulations.
  • Utilize lobby management to control and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Verify client identity according to established guidelines and adhere to all compliance procedures.
  • Assist branch management with operational tasks as required.
  • Process transactions, including check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, and loan payments.
  • Prepare and complete necessary reports for transactions as required.
  • Support training for other branch employees.
  • Provide assistance to the contact center during peak call volumes.
  • Address client inquiries via telephone.
  • Facilitate access to safe deposit boxes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 6 months of sales and service experience in a customer-facing retail environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including effective listening and communication abilities.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that meets business needs.
  • Professional demeanor with clients and colleagues.
  • Proficient mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of safety and security practices.
  • Proven relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to establish strong connections with clients through consultative conversations.
  • Excellent customer service and advocacy skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in various computer programs, including Microsoft Office.
  • Required to register as a mortgage loan originator with the NMLS prior to processing mortgage loan applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in retail banking.
  • Life and Health Licenses to support investment programs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is primarily conducted in a retail banking environment. Flexibility to work overtime and travel to different locations may be required.

  • Ability to lift between 5 to 25 lbs. (Coins).
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional bending or stooping may be necessary.

The work environment is typical of an office setting, with moderate noise levels. Travel to client locations may also be involved.
