POSITION SUMMARY:

The role of a Personal Banker at Provident Bank involves cultivating strong relationships with clients to identify and meet their financial needs. This position is essential in delivering exceptional customer service during all branch interactions and transactions.

The Personal Banker is a versatile role that encompasses both transactional and sales responsibilities. Daily tasks may vary based on branch requirements, including processing a range of financial transactions such as account openings, cross-selling products, and providing account services. Additionally, the Personal Banker will assist customers with inquiries, resolve account issues, and promote the bank's offerings by connecting clients with relevant departments.

This role is accountable for achieving sales targets related to deposits, loans, and overall revenue, while also managing cash drawers and assisting branch management with operational tasks and reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales goals through a thorough understanding of the bank's products and services to meet customer needs.
  • Promote banking products and address customer inquiries regarding accounts and services.
  • Actively refer clients to appropriate departments for specialized services.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and relationship building.
  • Contribute to the bank's sales initiatives by conducting needs assessments and expanding client relationships.

Service Responsibilities:

  • Identify customer opportunities through effective lobby management.
  • Assist clients with digital banking tools and refer them to other business lines as needed.
  • Ensure high-quality customer service while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Execute responsibilities to ensure a positive customer experience.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compliance with bank policies and regulations to ensure financial safety.
  • Manage lobby activities to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Verify customer identities in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Support branch operations and assist in training new employees.
  • Handle various transactions, including deposits and withdrawals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 6 months of experience in a customer-facing retail role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to business needs.
  • Demonstrated professionalism in interactions with customers and colleagues.
  • Proficient in mathematical and analytical tasks.
  • Ability to adhere to safety and security protocols.
  • Proven relationship-building capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in using computer applications, including Microsoft Office.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in retail banking.
  • Relevant licenses to support investment services.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The role is primarily based in a retail banking branch. Employees may be required to work overtime and travel to different locations as necessary. Physical demands include lifting up to 25 lbs. and prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
