Role Summary

The BootStack team is responsible for designing, constructing, and managing modern distributed systems on private infrastructure for clients. You will engage with cutting-edge technologies in a dynamic engineering setting. As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Lead for the BootStack team, your role will involve overseeing the engineers who manage the daily operations of customer environments, including customer service management, managed services operations, and ongoing product enhancement engineering. Successful collaboration with clients, product engineering, and operational teams is essential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a growing engineering team to enhance the quality and speed of both development and operations
  • Identify and assess team health metrics
  • Establish structured engineering and operational processes
  • Act as the representative of the BootStack team with stakeholders, clients, and external teams
  • Ensure the team maintains focus on priorities, milestones, and deliverables
  • Work towards achieving service level agreements with global customer deployments
  • Provide high-quality managed services consistently and promptly

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a technology-related field
  • Demonstrated professional experience in software delivery using languages such as Python, Go, C, C++, Java, or similar, and/or managing operational teams
  • Proven expertise with OpenStack
  • Strong commitment to testing practices and maintainable code quality
  • Experience in Linux system administration, with Ubuntu/Debian being advantageous
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
  • Experience in managing and working with distributed teams
  • Technical proficiency in understanding complex distributed systems
  • Knowledge of cloud architectures and technologies
  • Willingness to travel for team and company events and client meetings, approximately 20% or less
