This role offers the opportunity to lead a diverse team of engineers specializing in flood risk management systems, including locks, dams, levees, and stormwater management.

Key Responsibilities

As the Civil Engineering Discipline Lead, you will:

  • Design Oversight: Lead the conceptualization and development of design plans, specifications, and technical reports while employing innovative solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborative Engagement: Work closely with clients and AECOM teams to ensure stakeholder alignment and contribute to the broader technical capabilities of the organization.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and oversee the work of team members, ensuring adherence to quality control standards and timely project delivery.
  • Innovation Exploration: Actively seek opportunities to implement new methodologies and technologies in flood risk management.
  • Mentorship: Guide and support junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
  • Team Integration: Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and specialists to deliver comprehensive project solutions.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable design standards and regulations.
  • Conducting site visits and constructability reviews.
  • Presenting project proposals and updates to clients.
  • Assisting in business development and proposal efforts.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in civil engineering.
  • A Professional Engineer license in at least one U.S. state, with the ability to obtain additional licenses.
  • Experience with federal projects, particularly with agencies such as USACE and FEMA.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
