Position Overview
This position is essential in delivering clinical and medical support services to patients undergoing surgical interventions. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities within the Surgical Services department, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients during their procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the turnover and preparation of operating rooms, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for surgical cases.
- Transport patients to and from surgical areas, as well as manage the movement of equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate with the Central Processing Department to guarantee the timely delivery of sterile items and surgical kits.
- Support the clinical team in transferring patients safely and positioning them appropriately for procedures.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all procedural areas, adhering to safety regulations.
- Monitor and manage medical gas supplies, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Participate in inventory management, including the restocking of fluids and linens in the operating room.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and patient safety.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree.
- Experience in an operating room or surgical setting.
Physical and Technical Skills
Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds, maintain focus in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate proficiency in basic technical skills related to patient care.
