Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Podiatrist to join our team at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a Podiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to our patients, including diagnosing and treating foot and ankle conditions, performing surgical procedures, and providing education and support to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Treat Foot and Ankle Conditions: Conduct thorough medical evaluations, including reviewing medical histories, performing physical exams, and reviewing medical imaging and laboratory tests to diagnose and treat a range of foot and ankle conditions.
  • Perform Surgical Procedures: Conduct a variety of surgical procedures, including limb salvage, forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle procedures, to treat complex foot and ankle conditions.
  • Provide Education and Support: Educate patients and their families about foot and ankle health, provide guidance on self-care and prevention, and offer support and resources to help patients manage their conditions.
  • Collaborate with Other Healthcare Professionals: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, surgeons, and other specialists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Stay Current with Advances in Podiatric Medicine: Stay up-to-date with the latest advances in podiatric medicine and surgery through ongoing education and training.
Requirements
  • Education: Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited school of podiatric medicine.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in podiatric medicine, with a focus on surgical procedures and patient education.
  • Licensure: Current and unrestricted license to practice podiatry in the United States.
  • Certification: Board certification in podiatric surgery or a related field.
