Job Overview:

Ayalytical Instruments is looking for an Applications Support Engineer to enhance our customer engagement. The ideal candidate will be tasked with addressing inquiries from both existing and prospective clients regarding our advanced analytical equipment. Our focus is on laboratory analyzers that assess various properties such as viscosity, density, and flashpoint. A background in laboratory settings is highly advantageous. This role demands a solid technical foundation in chemical or mechanical engineering or a related discipline. The successful applicant will possess the skills to diagnose and rectify technical challenges while offering support to both customers and the sales team.

Key Duties:

  • Deliver technical assistance across all product offerings by responding to customer inquiries received through various channels including phone, email, and chat.
  • Assist customers with technical challenges by utilizing available resources and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Engage in ongoing training sessions to stay informed about product advancements and emerging technologies.
  • Document relevant information from customer interactions in the Customer Relationship Management system.
  • Analyze trends and technological developments to create technical tips, FAQs, and troubleshooting resources.
  • Suggest improvements to knowledge databases and other technical information repositories managed by the company.
  • Share technical insights during team meetings and contribute to departmental discussions.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and during customer site visits to present product information.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to address technical inquiries regarding our analyzers and testing methodologies.
  • Provide solutions to technical questions posed by potential customers to facilitate sales.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements.
  • Work in tandem with team members to deliver comprehensive solutions to client needs.
  • Educate customers on maximizing the use of our petroleum testing instruments.
  • Aid in the creation and execution of training initiatives for clients.
  • Offer IT support within the office environment.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, scientific methods, and technological applications.
  • A relevant technical degree.
  • Laboratory experience is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with ASTM standards is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated experience as an Applications Support Engineer or in a comparable role.
  • Proficient in diagnosing issues and providing effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical information in an accessible manner.
  • Ability to keep pace with the latest technological developments and business needs.
  • Experience in customer service or a related scientific field is preferred.
  • Strong technical writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to assimilate large volumes of intricate technical information swiftly.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Proficient in digital tools including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing applications.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
