  • Recovery Tools and Skills: Teach and model effective coping skills, symptom management, and natural support systems.
  • Community Connection: Help individuals connect with their community, build relationships, and access resources.
  • Resilience and Strengths: Assist individuals in identifying their strengths, personal resources, and recovery goals.
  • Treatment Team Collaboration: Participate as a member of the treatment team, contributing to client Wellness Plans and treatment decisions.
  • Training and Certification: Complete state-approved training, pass a standardized examination, and maintain ongoing certification as a Certified Peer Specialist.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required for this role.
  • Valid Driver's License: Required for transporting clients, as clinically indicated.
  • Self-Identification: Must self-identify as a current or former consumer of behavioral health, substance use, or co-occurring disorder services.
