Job Summary:

The Catering Sales Manager will play a crucial role in generating revenue by coordinating the sales process for catering services, proactively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and nurturing client relationships. This position requires strong organizational skills, strong blend of sales acumen, customer service skills, and attention to detail to ensure the successful execution of events and the satisfaction of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement: Respond promptly to inquiries from potential clients, providing detailed information about our catering services and pricing packages.
  • Consultations: Conduct thorough consultations with clients to understand their event requirements, preferences, and budget constraints.
  • Proposal Development: Prepare and present tailored catering proposals and contracts, outlining menu options, pricing, and event details.
  • Order Processing: Process catering orders accurately and promptly using our internal systems
  • Invoice and Quote Generation: Generate invoices, quotes, and contracts as needed.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the planning process, addressing any questions or concerns and providing regular updates on the status of their event.
  • Event Coordination: Assist with onsite event coordination as needed, ensuring smooth execution and exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Business Development: Identify and prospect new clients through various channels, including cold calling, networking events, and referrals. Follow up with leads and maintain regular communication with clients throughout the sales process, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including culinary, operations, and event planning, to ensure seamless execution of contracted events.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and event details in the CRM system.
  • Industry Engagement: Attend industry events, trade shows, and community functions to promote our catering services and build relationships with potential clients and partners.
  • Marketing Support: Assist with marketing initiatives, such as developing promotional materials and participating in marketing campaigns, to drive brand awareness and generate leads.
  • Market Research: Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback.
  • Upselling Opportunities: Continuously identify opportunities to upsell additional services or upgrades to enhance the client's experience and maximize revenue.

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of proven experience in the catering /food and beverage industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and effectively articulate the value proposition of our services.
  • Excellent negotiation, sales and closing skills, with the ability to navigate objections and overcome challenges to secure new business.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Foodstorm, HubSpot, etc) and Microsoft Office suite
  • Flexibility to work weekends as needed to accommodate client meetings and events.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage industry trends, menu planning, and event logistics preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for attending client meetings and events.
