Position Overview:

The Finance Manager - Credit will take charge of evaluating credit and financial reports to assess the risks associated with extending credit to both domestic and international clients. This role also involves making recommendations regarding policies and procedures to protect the company's assets.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Finance Manager - Credit, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the credit and collections function with managerial duties.
  • Providing strategic recommendations to enhance the company's credit risk management framework.
  • Preparing and delivering updates on the credit function to senior management and the board.
  • Collaborating with sales, accounting, and external stakeholders to proactively resolve payment issues.
  • Leading the implementation and optimization of automated cash application systems.
  • Coordinating with finance teams regarding customer inquiries related to shipments.
  • Working closely with financial planning and analysis teams on credit matters affecting cash flow and profitability.
  • Managing the company's core process, policies, and accounting related to remanufactured products.
  • Ensuring adherence to the company's credit policies and procedures, including:
    • Conducting thorough financial analyses to assess credit risk.
    • Evaluating the creditworthiness of potential clients.
  • Executing month-end journal entries related to credit and collections.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CPA, CCE) are advantageous.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in credit management, finance, or accounting.
    • Experience in assessing credit risk and managing credit policies.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities for evaluating creditworthiness and financial risk.
    • Proficiency in financial analysis and credit evaluation methodologies.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for effective interaction with clients and internal teams.
    • Ability to formulate and implement credit policies and procedures.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for financial modeling and reporting.
  • Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with credit laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
    • Understanding of financial statements, credit reports, and risk assessment tools.
  • Leadership:
    • Proven ability to lead and manage a credit team, including setting objectives and providing mentorship.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Strong relationship-building abilities for collaboration with clients and other departments.
    • Effective problem-solving skills for addressing credit-related challenges.

Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.
