Position Summary

The Finance Manager - Credit will be responsible for evaluating credit and financial reports to assess the risks associated with extending credit to both domestic and international clients. This role will also involve providing insights and recommendations regarding policies and procedures to protect the company's assets.

Key Responsibilities

The Finance Manager - Credit will:

  • Oversee the credit and collections function, with supervisory duties.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to enhance the company's credit risk management framework.
  • Prepare and deliver updates on the credit function to senior management and the board.
  • Collaborate with sales, accounting, and external stakeholders to proactively resolve payment issues and serve as the subject matter expert on credit policy changes.
  • Manage the implementation and optimization of automated cash application software.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing finance teams regarding customer inquiries related to short shipments.
  • Work alongside FP&A and accounting teams on credit matters affecting cash flow and profitability.
  • Oversee the management of the company's REMAN Core process, policy, and accounting.
  • Ensure adherence to the company's credit policies and procedures, including:
    • Conducting thorough financial analyses to evaluate risk levels in credit extension.
    • Assessing the creditworthiness of potential clients.
  • Execute month-end journal entries related to credit, collections, and core accounting.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CPA, CCE) are advantageous.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in credit management, finance, or accounting, with a focus on credit risk evaluation and policy management.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and decision-making abilities for assessing creditworthiness and financial risk; proficiency in financial analysis and credit evaluation techniques; excellent communication and negotiation skills; capability to develop and implement credit policies and procedures.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for financial modeling and reporting.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with credit laws, regulations, and best practices; understanding of financial statements, credit reports, and risk assessment tools.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and manage a credit team, including setting objectives and providing guidance.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills for collaboration with clients and internal departments; adept problem-solving skills for addressing credit-related challenges.
