Postdoctoral Research Fellow

The Lee Group is seeking highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to contribute to our cutting-edge research on the logic of aging and brain disease across multiple species and models. Our team employs an integrative and whole brain network approach, combining single neurons-barcoding, multiomic single nuclei RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and circuit mapping to understand the complex mechanisms underlying Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson Disease, and Schizophrenia.
The Logic of Prodromal ADWe are seeking a researcher to elucidate the logic of where and how AD is initiated and progresses from the prodromal phase to AD dementia. Using AI and multi-scale and multi-modal big datasets, the successful candidate will decipher the underlying mechanisms of prodromal AD.
Neural Circuits and Molecular Mechanisms of PD and SCZThis project aims to elucidate cell-specific circuits and molecular mechanisms controlling motor and non-motor symptoms in PD and SCZ. The researcher will apply a multi-scale and multi-modal approach to understand the neural circuits and molecular mechanisms underlying these diseases.
Modeling Human Development and Brain Disease in Non-Rodent SpeciesWe are developing blastomere-like stem cells and genetic tools in non-rodent species to uncover the functions of genes and neural circuits underlying embryonic development, brain disease, and regenerative medicine. The successful candidate will contribute to this project and develop new tools and approaches.
Requirements- Ph.D. in neurobiology and disease or related fields
- Experience in neurobiology, disease modeling, and whole brain network analysis
- Strong publication record and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
The Salk Institute offers a competitive salary range of $70,000-$77,500, depending on experience.
