We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will have a strong background in epidemiology and mixed-methods research, with a focus on quantitative and mixed-methods research addressing sexual and reproductive health inequities among marginalized women and migrant communities.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct epidemiologic and mixed-methods research focused on quantitative and mixed-methods research addressing sexual and reproductive health inequities among marginalized women and migrant communities.
- Conduct data analyses, lead and contribute to scholarly writing for peer-reviewed publications, coordinate project milestones, contribute to annual grant reports, mentor trainees, and conduct research with members of an interdisciplinary team.
- Assist with mentoring trainees on the research team (e.g., Research Assistants).
- Support clinical trial oversight, data collection and management, and to lead and co-author manuscripts summarizing both qualitative and quantitative findings.
- Doctoral degree in an area of health, social, behavioral, and/or quantitative sciences (e.g., epidemiology).
- Demonstrated experience conducting epidemiologic and/or mixed-methods data analyses and leading first-authored publications.
- Evidence of strong scholarship through published research.
- Demonstrated evidence of organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be willing to travel between locations.
- Candidates with interests in migrant health, social justice and health, and harm reduction, as well as the application of advanced and/or social epidemiologic quantitative methods (e.g., mediation analysis, multi-level modeling, geospatial analysis) and/or mixed-methods are especially encouraged to apply.
- Anticipated hiring range: $57,000 - $65,000 annually.
- Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
- San Diego State University offers a rich benefits package that constitutes a major portion of total compensation.
