Outdoor Education Program Coordinator

Position Summary:
This role plays a crucial part in supporting the mission of the Y, a prominent nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Program Staff at Ozarks Regional YMCA is responsible for ensuring that seasonal camping initiatives align with community needs by executing established program activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the execution of Outdoor Education, Youth Committee, and Weekend Camp Programs.
- Engage in Outdoor Education training.
- Lead classes and adhere to curriculum guidelines while working with visiting school groups.
- Oversee climbing wall and low ropes activities for visiting groups and schools.
- Manage lakefront activities, including boating and fishing.
- Anticipate, prevent, identify, and address safety concerns.
- Communicate with all guests in a mature and responsible manner.
- Contribute to program development and enhancement.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Participate in the daily cleaning and maintenance of program facilities as assigned.
- Assist in other departments or program areas as needed.
Qualifications:
- Preferred two years of experience in an overnight camping environment.
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Availability throughout the fall semester is essential.
- Ability to consistently demonstrate alignment with the YMCA's four core values.
- CPR Pro & First Aid Certification required within the first month (training available).
- Capability to effectively relate to diverse groups from various social and economic backgrounds.
- Commitment to inclusion and adherence to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

- Frequent sitting and reaching are required, along with the ability to navigate the work environment.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds may be necessary.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
