Job Overview:
We are in search of a skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer who plays a vital role in our team’s success.

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will deliver engineering and consulting expertise across a diverse range of projects and clientele.

Your responsibilities will encompass conducting and/or overseeing field investigations, performing engineering analyses, executing calculations, and formulating recommendations. You will also be involved in the design and development of plans and specifications, as well as observation and inspection duties, alongside the preparation and review of related reports.

You will review drawings and construction activities to ensure adherence to plans and specifications. Additionally, you will prepare proposals and cost estimates, monitor project progress, manage budgets, and suggest necessary modifications. Your role will also include researching and resolving design and construction challenges, as well as assigning, reviewing, and evaluating laboratory or field data for report inclusion.

It is essential to apply sound engineering principles and effectively communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to both technical and non-technical clients and project teams.

Your services may be rendered for both existing and proposed projects across public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead safety initiatives for the team, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and guidelines. Foster a culture of safety within the work environment.
2. Encourage pre-task planning for all projects to enhance safety and efficiency.
3. Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement throughout project execution. Ensure adherence to quality standards and practices.
4. Develop a comprehensive understanding of project-related risks and implement measures to safeguard the company. Familiarize yourself with company risk policies.

5. Serve as a senior engineering professional providing technical direction essential for the successful completion of both routine and complex projects.

6. Conceptualize initial designs and investigative approaches for significant phases of large projects or take overall responsibility for engineering tasks on moderately scoped projects.

7. Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate engineering work that involves conventional practices while addressing various complex features, including conflicting design requirements.

8. Review projects that necessitate advanced and innovative investigation techniques, supervising the analysis and formulation of recommendations in written reports for clients; provide technical review of reports.

9. Lead technical training sessions and make informed decisions based on cutting-edge technology issues.
10. Provide leadership in marketing, sales, and business development initiatives.
11. Supervise junior engineers or technical support personnel on projects.
12. Act as an Authorized Project Reviewer and mentor for less experienced staff.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering; a Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
Minimum of 8-11 years of relevant experience.
Ohio Professional Engineer (PE) license; or the ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history.
