Geotechnical Engineering Specialist I

Position Overview:
As a Geotechnical Project Professional I, you will play a crucial role in the preparation of geotechnical assessments, ensuring thorough analysis and actionable recommendations while adhering to project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the development of geotechnical reports, emphasizing timely completion and quality assurance.
  • Oversee construction materials testing (CMT) initiatives, including daily report evaluations, issue resolution, and training of field personnel.
  • Draft both geotechnical and CMT proposals, manage project financials, and handle change orders and invoicing.
  • Additional responsibilities may encompass:
    • Creating drilling packages and securing utility clearances.
    • Conducting research on local geological conditions.
    • Supervising field operations conducted by drilling and test pit teams, addressing rig access challenges.
    • Classifying soil samples and determining necessary laboratory tests.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is mandatory; a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Earth Sciences, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required.
  • All testing activities must comply with certification requirements as per the Technician Certification and Pay Policy.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary if driving for any ECS subsidiary.
