Senior Geotechnical Engineering Specialist

S&ME INC is in search of a skilled professional with expertise in geotechnical engineering and construction materials evaluation to join our dynamic construction engineering division. Position Overview:

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineering Specialist, you will be instrumental in managing and overseeing medium to large-scale construction materials evaluation and geotechnical projects, ensuring adherence to quality and compliance standards from testing outcomes to report and proposal generation and assessment. You will collaborate closely with clients, project teams, and laboratory personnel to deliver successful outcomes while maintaining our commitment to excellence.

Your role will involve engaging with clients to understand their specific project requirements and going above and beyond to ensure their satisfaction. Your technical acumen will be essential in mentoring and guiding a team of proficient professionals and field staff, fostering their development.

Your business development initiatives will focus on building a strong local client network and expanding your professional connections to enhance revenue growth in alignment with our ambitious financial objectives.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in Construction Materials Evaluation, Special Inspections, and Geotechnical projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT standards and procedures, IBC Special Inspections, and geotechnical recommendations
  • Willingness to work outdoors, operate equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds
