Position Overview

Avantax Planning Partners is in search of a Retirement Plan Enrollment Consultant II who will be tasked with designing, leading, and conducting educational sessions for our retirement plan services clientele and their employees. This role requires the ability to effectively communicate in front of groups and engage with employees individually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute enrollment sessions for both new and existing clients.
  • Deliver educational support to clients and their employees through in-person meetings and phone consultations. Travel may be necessary.
  • Assist employees in formulating personalized retirement strategies.
  • Create and distribute enrollment communication materials.
  • Respond to client and participant inquiries via email.
  • Provide educational support for various retirement plans including 401(k), 403(b), 457(b), and defined benefit cash balance plans.
  • Develop and assess employee education programs tailored to business and client requirements.
  • Present educational content to clients, employees, and financial advisors through phone or video conferencing.
  • Stay informed about evolving retirement plan regulations and compliance standards.
  • Generate and deliver plan and participant-level reports utilizing the Relius recordkeeping system and Crystal reports.
  • Offer training assistance to fellow team members as required.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues to resolve client-related issues.
  • Lead and implement enhancements for educational presentations and materials.
  • Adhere to and promote all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree or associate degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the retirement sector.
  • Series 65 certification is required.
  • Proficiency in Relius record-keeping systems is essential.
  • Strong skills in MS Word, Excel, CRM databases, PowerPoint, email, and internet navigation are preferred.
  • Familiarity with IRS and DOL regulations pertaining to qualified plans.
  • Experience in the retirement industry is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated professional presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Involves keying/typing, standing, and walking.
  • Requires prolonged sitting.
  • Demands constant mental and/or visual focus; tasks may be repetitive or varied, necessitating ongoing alertness in an office setting.
  • Typically performed in comfortable working conditions; any adverse elements are generally absent during normal job performance.
  • Compliance with company attendance policies is expected.
