Job Summary

The Patient Access Representative PRN is a vital role within JPS Health Network, responsible for ensuring seamless patient flow and exceptional patient experience. As a key member of our team, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing a warm and welcoming experience that sets the tone for their entire visit.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Greets and directs patients and visitors, utilizing AIDET principles to ensure a positive experience.
  2. Accurately identifies patient information and registers patients in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining regulatory and functional knowledge of all required information.
  3. Explains and secures consent for registration forms, including general consent forms, MSPQ, notice of privacy practices, patient rights and responsibilities, and MyChart enrollment.
  4. Distributes patient-related materials and obtains patient or authorized representative's signature on insurance waivers and financial forms.
  5. Collects patient-owed cost-sharing amounts, reconciles cash drawers, and refers patients to Enrollment and Eligibility as needed.
  6. Acquires precertification status for applicable services, utilizing insurance verification tools to ensure accuracy.
  7. Coordinates and schedules appointments, selects referral providers, and minimizes no-shows to expedite patient access to care.
  8. Maintains daily Epic work queues, quality assurance, and productivity levels, with minimal errors.
  9. Provides exceptional patient care by complying with JPS Health Network's attendance and punctuality procedures.
  10. Attends mandatory educational sessions, assists in staff training, and demonstrates the importance of patient satisfaction.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of relevant work experience.
  • 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Professional Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Patient Access - General Consent Orientation and Patient Financial Experience Training (if assigned to specific roles).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in a Patient Access/Patient Accounting role.
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA).
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, or other languages.
