Job Summary:

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for ensuring a seamless patient experience by accurately registering patients, verifying insurance information, and collecting patient owed costs. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Greets and directs patients and visitors, providing information and assistance as needed.
  2. Accurately registers patients, maintains regulatory knowledge, and ensures timely and accurate reporting and billing.
  3. Explains and secures consent for registration forms, distributes patient-related materials, and obtains signatures as required.
  4. Collects patient owed costs, reconciles cash drawers, and refers patients to Enrollment and Eligibility when necessary.
  5. Acquires precertification status for services, utilizes insurance verification tools, and maintains error rates in accordance with SOP.
  6. Coordinates and schedules appointments, selects referrals, and expedites patient access to care.
  7. Maintains daily Epic work queues, quality assurance, and productivity levels with minimal errors.
  8. Provides high-quality care to patients by complying with JPS Health Network's attendance and punctuality procedures.
  9. Attends mandatory educational sessions, assists with staff training, and demonstrates customer satisfaction through friendly and caring interactions.
Requirements:
  • Certification in Non-Aggressive Crisis Management (Behavioral Health department).
  • Patient Access General Consent Orientation and Patient Financial Experience Training (completed within 30 days of hire).
  • Relevant experience (dependent on level: I, II, III, or IV).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA).
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, or other languages.
