Job Summary

The Patient Access Representative PRN Behavioral Health Specialist is responsible for expediting patient flow and enhancing the patient experience at JPS Health Network. This role involves greeting patients, performing patient access functions, and maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and ethics continuously.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Patient Greeting and Registration: Accurately identify patients and register them in the database, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and billing.
  2. Insurance Verification and Consent: Explain and secure consent for registration forms, including general consent forms, MSPQ, notice of privacy practices, patient rights and responsibilities, and MyChart enrollment.
  3. Cash Collection and Reconciliation: Collect patient owed cost sharing amounts and reconcile the cash drawer at the end of each shift.
  4. Precertification and Scheduling: Acquire precertification status for applicable services and coordinate and schedule appointments to expedite patient access to care.
  5. Quality Assurance and Productivity: Maintain daily Epic work queue, quality assurance, and established productivity levels with minimal errors.
  6. Customer Service: Provide the highest quality of care to patients by complying with JPS Health Network's attendance and punctuality procedure and attending all mandatory educational, compliance, and safety program sessions.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of relevant work experience.
  • 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Professional Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Patient Access - General Consent Orientation and Patient Financial Experience Training (if assigned to specific roles).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in a Patient Access/Patient Accounting role.
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA).
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, or other languages.
