Job Overview

TopView Sightseeing is a leader in providing unique experiences for tourists and locals alike. We are currently seeking a skilled Electrician to support our fleet operations in New York. This is a full-time role within a dynamic and expanding organization.

Position Summary

The Electrician will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical systems on our vessels. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in various electrical tasks and contribute to the overall efficiency of our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on electrical systems
  • Work with low voltage electronics (12v, 24v, 36v)
  • Handle standard voltage (110v/120v) and high voltage (208v, 220v, 480v) systems
  • Maintain and repair HVAC systems
  • Understand data cabling and its applications
  • Install and maintain sound systems
  • Create and interpret wiring diagrams as necessary
  • Execute electrical wiring plans for effective lighting and intercom systems
  • Install electrical devices, fixtures, and alarm systems
  • Set up safety and distribution components (e.g., switches, circuit-breaker panels)
  • Connect wiring in circuits and networks ensuring component compatibility
  • Assemble conduits and connect wiring
  • Conduct routine inspections to prevent system breakdowns
  • Diagnose electrical issues and determine necessary repairs
  • Source parts and coordinate with contractors for specialized repairs
  • Work independently and maintain compliance with regulations

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a marine electrician
  • Electrician certification is preferred but not mandatory
  • Familiarity with marine environments and applications
  • Experience in operating and maintaining marine machinery
  • Ability to work in challenging weather conditions
  • Physical capability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, reach, bend, and navigate uneven surfaces
  • Possession of personal tools and a vehicle for transportation
  • Availability for weekends, on-call duties, and holidays
  • Flexible work hours
  • Compliance with pre-employment background checks and drug testing as per regulations

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $30.00 per hour

Expected Work Hours: 40 hours per week
