Position Summary:

Our New York City office is seeking a dedicated Marine Structural Engineer with a focus on structural engineering. This role offers the opportunity to engage in significant waterfront and marine structural projects, contributing to the design of large-scale and intricate engineering endeavors across various industries, including coastal resiliency, shipping, defense, oil and gas, and offshore wind.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the conceptual development and design of waterfront structural initiatives.
  • Conduct structural analysis, design, and detailing for concrete and steel structures.
  • Evaluate static and dynamic loads on laterally performing structures, considering soil-structure interaction.
  • Create finite element models of marine structures utilizing software such as SAP2000 and Xtract.
  • Prepare calculations and document design details for completed projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers and drafting technicians to refine structural details.
  • Perform site inspections and condition assessments of existing structures.
  • Gain practical experience through field inspections on construction projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis and 2 to 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis and up to 4 years of experience.
  • Engineer In Training certification is required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or a similar drafting platform is essential.
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as SAP2000 or its equivalent is necessary.
  • Possession of or eligibility for a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check is mandatory.
  • Compliance with E-Verify requirements is expected.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $76,743 to $93,797, commensurate with experience, education, and professional qualifications.

Physical Requirements:

This role primarily involves office work, with site visits requiring navigation of unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
