Position Summary:

The selected candidate will engage in various waterfront and marine structural initiatives, gaining invaluable experience in the field. This role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth through involvement in the design of intricate waterfront structures across multiple industries, including coastal resilience, shipping, defense, oil and gas, and offshore wind energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the conceptualization and design of waterfront structural projects.
  • Conduct structural analysis, design, and detailing for concrete and steel structures.
  • Evaluate static and dynamic loads on laterally performing structures, considering soil-structure interaction.
  • Create finite element models of marine structures utilizing software such as SAP2000 and Xtract.
  • Prepare calculations and document design details for completed projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers and drafting technicians to develop structural details.
  • Perform site inspections and assess the condition of existing structures.
  • Gain hands-on experience through field inspections for construction projects you have been involved in during the design phase.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis and 2 to 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus and 0 to 4 years of experience.
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) certification is required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or a similar drafting platform is essential.
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as SAP2000 or its equivalent is required.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) is necessary.
  • All new hires must successfully complete a pre-employment background check.
  • Moffatt & Nichol participates in E-Verify, and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to work in the U.S.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is between $76,743 and $93,797, depending on experience, education level, and professional registration.

Physical Requirements:

This role primarily involves office work, but site visits may require navigating uneven terrain while carrying equipment.
