Position Summary:

The selected candidate will gain invaluable experience working on large-scale, intricate structural engineering projects across various sectors, including coastal resilience, shipping, defense, oil and gas, and offshore wind. You will collaborate with a skilled team of structural engineers and designers, fostering your professional growth within the engineering field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the conceptualization and design of waterfront structural projects.
  • Conduct structural analysis, design, and detailing for concrete and steel structures.
  • Evaluate static and dynamic loads on structures, considering soil-structure interaction.
  • Create finite element models of marine structures utilizing software such as SAP2000 and Xtract.
  • Compile calculations and document design specifications for completed projects.
  • Coordinate the development of structural details with engineers and drafting technicians.
  • Perform site inspections and assess the condition of existing structures.
  • Gain practical experience through field inspections related to your design projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis, accompanied by 2 to 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis and up to 4 years of experience.
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) certification is required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or a similar drafting software is essential.
  • Experience with structural analysis software, such as SAP2000, is required.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • All new hires must successfully complete a pre-employment background check.
  • Moffatt & Nichol utilizes E-Verify, and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to work in the U.S.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $76,743 to $93,797, contingent upon experience, education level, and professional registration.

Physical Requirements:

This role primarily involves office work, but site visits may require navigating uneven terrain while carrying equipment.
