Position Overview

The American Conservation Experience, a nonprofit organization dedicated to conservation efforts, is seeking a Public Outreach Member to assist in various responsibilities including site management, educational outreach, and recreation planning.

Role Summary:

The selected member will play a crucial role in developing and delivering interpretive and educational programs aimed at enhancing community awareness of natural and historical resources. Responsibilities will include creating educational materials, managing social media content, and improving visitor information regarding recreational access and safety.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with staff from various departments to prioritize outreach and educational initiatives.
  • Work alongside federal, state, tribal, and nonprofit partners in the design and creation of outreach materials.
  • Conduct public outreach and educational activities.
  • Generate engaging social media content related to natural and historical resources.
  • Design and develop educational materials for onsite use and outreach efforts.

This position is designed to foster professional growth and provide exposure to land management practices while facilitating networking opportunities with professionals in the field.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend availability.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • U.S. citizenship or Permanent Residency.
  • Ability to represent the organization positively and professionally.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Willingness to undergo criminal history checks.

Preferred:

  • Strong writing, research, and organizational skills.
  • Public speaking experience.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of educational and interpretive principles.

Environmental Considerations: Members may encounter various environmental conditions and are expected to conduct their duties safely and responsibly.
