Position Overview:

Role Objective:

This position focuses on delivering speech-language therapy services to individuals across various age groups who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and associated conditions.

Key Duties of the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP):

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and program implementation
  • Facilitating training sessions for parents
  • Providing professional development opportunities through online seminars
  • Mentoring university practicum students
Main Responsibilities:

As an SLP, your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities aimed at assisting individuals in areas such as early intervention, recreational activities, and adult services. Services may be rendered in diverse settings.

  • Administering evaluations for speech-language and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
  • Formulating treatment objectives and goals
  • Engaging parents in training and support
  • Generating clinical documentation and graphical representations
  • Providing expert advice on communication strategies
  • Developing resources to meet communicative requirements
  • Collaborating with the clinical team for program enhancement
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Communicative Sciences or a related discipline
  • Valid Speech-Language Pathology License
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • At least one year of clinical experience in speech-language therapy
  • Experience with diverse age demographics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Competence in computer usage and data management
  • CPR/BLS certification
  • Current driver's license
Desirable Attributes:
  • 2-3 years of experience working with individuals with ASD
  • Experience in naturalistic therapy environments
  • Involvement in research or local symposiums
  • Bilingual capabilities
  • PCM certification
Work Setting:
  • Primarily office-based
  • Ability to physically assist clients as needed
