Business Development Lead

As a Business Development Lead at Gridiron IT Solutions LLC, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth and success by identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities within the federal government sector. This role involves developing strategic plans, building relationships with potential clients, and collaborating with internal teams to create compelling proposals. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the federal contracting landscape, a proven track record of successful business development, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve company growth targets and expand Gridiron IT's presence in the federal marketplace.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and competitive threats. Use this information to inform business development strategies and decision-making.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within federal agencies and other potential clients. Understand their needs and align Gridiron IT's offerings to meet those needs.
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities through various channels, including networking events, industry conferences, and market research.
- Lead the development of high-quality proposals and responses to RFPs, RFIs, and other solicitations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and ensure proposals are compelling and compliant.
- Identify and establish partnerships with other companies and organizations that can enhance Gridiron IT's service offerings and market position.
- Track and report on business development activities, pipeline status, and key performance indicators. Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress and outcomes.
- Represent Gridiron IT at industry events, conferences, and meetings to enhance the company's visibility and reputation within the federal contracting community.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business development within the federal government contracting sector.
- 8+ years of capture management experience identifying and supporting proposal responses.
- Prior strategic Federal account management experience.
- Excellent communication and writing skills, with both technical and analytical language.
- Self-motivated with a great sense of urgency and follow-through.
- Must have a good understanding of government procurement and government contract vehicles.
- Excellent communicator who can quickly earn the respect of the team and customers.
- Solid ability to develop, communicate, and document strategic plans and initiatives to stakeholders and executive management alike.
- Strong strategic document development and creation.
- Must have the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
