Maintenance Scheduler

Active Minerals International (AMI) stands as a global leader in specialty industrial minerals, focusing on the production and marketing of high-purity kaolin and gel-quality attapulgite clay minerals for various industries including fiberglass, concrete, plaster, paints, rubber, and agriculture.
Position Overview:This role is pivotal in maintaining the Preventive Maintenance Program. Responsibilities include processing all plant purchases related to maintenance and verifying the accuracy of incoming shipments. Inventory management of plant-acquired items is also a critical aspect of this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule preventive maintenance work orders within the designated system.
- Monitor and track work orders effectively.
- Distribute work orders to the relevant maintenance departments.
- Document and monitor unscheduled maintenance and downtime, including generating reports from these work orders.
- Engage in discussions regarding modifications to maintenance schedules.
- Oversee inventory usage related to maintenance and office tasks, ensuring adequate supplies are maintained.
- Manage plant-specific purchases from requisition through to receipt.
- Verify incoming goods against shipping notices by counting, sorting, or weighing.
- Ensure the quantity and quality of received goods conform to purchase orders and specifications.
- Execute Corrective Action Preventive Actions (CAPAs) as necessary.
- Facilitate communication and coordination for returns, rejections, and credits with vendors, including documentation for accounts payable.
- Input receipts and stock items into the designated system.
- Conduct weekly physical inventory counts of maintenance supplies, reconciling discrepancies.
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliations for accounting purposes.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- A two-year technical degree or relevant experience is preferred.
- Experience in preventive maintenance programs, inventory management, and procurement of maintenance and office supplies is essential.
- Strong ethical standards and integrity are a must.
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office, with accurate data entry skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with exceptional organizational and planning abilities.
- Completion of a Respirator Fit Test is required upon hire; facial hair must not interfere with the respirator seal during testing.
Work Environment:
This position operates within a production environment, necessitating the ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 55 lbs regularly. Candidates should be capable of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and climbing heights of up to 70 feet. The role requires simultaneous operation of hand and foot controls, along with manual dexterity for handling controls and/or computer keyboards. Good vision and hearing are also essential.
