Active Minerals International (AMI) is a global leader in specialty industrial minerals, focusing on the production and marketing of high purity kaolin and gel quality attapulgite clay minerals for various industries including fiberglass, concrete, plaster, paints, rubber, and agriculture.
Position Overview:This role is pivotal in maintaining the Preventive Maintenance Program. Responsibilities include processing all plant purchases and verifying incoming shipments for accuracy. Additionally, inventory management of plant-acquired items is a key aspect of this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule preventive maintenance work orders.
- Monitor and track work orders.
- Distribute work orders to the appropriate maintenance departments.
- Document and analyze unscheduled maintenance and downtime, including generating reports.
- Engage in discussions regarding adjustments to maintenance schedules.
- Monitor inventory usage related to maintenance and office tasks, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Process plant-specific purchases from requisition to receipt.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming goods against shipping notices.
- Assess the quantity and quality of received goods for compliance with purchase orders.
- Execute Corrective Action Preventive Actions (CAPAs) as necessary.
- Facilitate communication regarding returns, rejections, and credits with vendors.
- Input receipts and stock items into the inventory system.
- Conduct weekly physical inventory counts of maintenance supplies and reconcile discrepancies.
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliations for accounting purposes.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two-year technical degree or relevant experience preferred.
- Experience in preventive maintenance programs, inventory management, and procurement of maintenance supplies.
- Strong ethical standards and integrity.
- Proficient in computer use and familiar with Microsoft Office applications, with strong data entry skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, along with exceptional organizational and planning skills.
- Respirator Fit Test required upon hire; facial hair must not interfere with the respirator seal during fit testing.
Work Environment:
This position operates within a production environment, requiring the ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 55 lbs regularly. Candidates must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb up to 70 feet, as well as operate hand and foot controls simultaneously. Manual dexterity is essential for operating hand controls and/or computer keyboards, along with good vision and hearing.
