Overview:

The Counter Sales Associate plays a vital role in supporting the sales team and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Branch Manager with inside sales activities, including product inquiries, pricing, and quotations.
  2. Provide expert advice on electrical products tailored to customer needs and expectations.
  3. Manage multiple tasks, including order fulfillment, inventory management, and customer service at the sales counter.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with both new and existing customers to enhance sales opportunities.
  5. Utilize computer systems to prepare and process customer orders efficiently.
  6. Deliver product information, pricing quotes, and follow up on customer inquiries promptly.
  7. Encourage additional sales through effective upselling techniques.
  8. Process customer transactions accurately, including orders, quotes, and returns.
  9. Promote special offers and programs to customers.
  10. Participate in product training sessions, both online and in-person.
  11. Attend mandatory meetings to stay updated on company policies and sales strategies.
  12. Coordinate with vendors to track delivery schedules and ensure customer satisfaction.
  13. Maintain professional communication with customers via phone, documenting sales activities.
  14. Fulfill requests for catalogs and product samples.
  15. Handle customer inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
  16. Implement best practices to ensure high-quality work processes.
  17. Continuously seek ways to enhance operational efficiency.
  18. Prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
  19. Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with company policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Sales experience and a foundational understanding of electrical products are preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, professional demeanor, and reliability are essential.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to learn quickly and build strong relationships.
  • Proficient in computer usage, with typing skills of 35-50 words per minute.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional interaction with colleagues and vendors.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate Degree or relevant coursework in Electrical preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in sales and knowledge of electrical products is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications is required.
