Job Overview:

As a Counter Sales Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Branch Manager and driving inside sales initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction and boosting sales performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Branch Manager with inside sales operations, including product knowledge, pricing strategies, and quotations.
  2. Provide expert advice on electrical products tailored to meet customer needs and expectations.
  3. Manage multiple tasks effectively, including order fulfillment, inventory management, and customer inquiries at the sales counter.
  4. Develop and maintain a robust sales base through engagement with both new and existing customers.
  5. Utilize computer software systems to prepare and process customer orders efficiently.
  6. Deliver accurate product information, pricing quotes, and follow-up communications for customer inquiries.
  7. Encourage additional sales through a value-added approach, promoting new products and special promotions.
  8. Process customer transactions, including orders, quotes, and returns, with precision.
  9. Participate in product training sessions, both online and in-person, to enhance product knowledge.
  10. Attend required meetings to stay informed about company policies and sales strategies.
  11. Coordinate with vendors to track delivery schedules and ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders.
  12. Maintain professional communication with customers via telephone, documenting sales activities for review.
  13. Respond promptly and professionally to all customer inquiries, ensuring a high level of service.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance work processes and improve overall efficiency.
  15. Prioritize tasks effectively to meet business objectives.
  16. Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with company policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous sales experience and foundational knowledge of electrical products are preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, professionalism, and reliability are essential.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to learn quickly and build strong relationships with customers.
  • Proficient in computer usage, with typing skills of 35-50 words per minute.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional interaction with colleagues and vendors.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate Degree or relevant post-secondary coursework in Electrical is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sales experience and basic electrical knowledge are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications is required.
