Job Overview:
As a Counter Sales Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Branch Manager and driving inside sales initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction and boosting sales performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Branch Manager with inside sales operations, including product knowledge, pricing strategies, and quotations.
- Provide expert advice on electrical products tailored to meet customer needs and expectations.
- Manage multiple tasks effectively, including order fulfillment, inventory management, and customer inquiries at the sales counter.
- Develop and maintain a robust sales base through engagement with both new and existing customers.
- Utilize computer software systems to prepare and process customer orders efficiently.
- Deliver accurate product information, pricing quotes, and follow-up communications for customer inquiries.
- Encourage additional sales through a value-added approach, promoting new products and special promotions.
- Process customer transactions, including orders, quotes, and returns, with precision.
- Participate in product training sessions, both online and in-person, to enhance product knowledge.
- Attend required meetings to stay informed about company policies and sales strategies.
- Coordinate with vendors to track delivery schedules and ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders.
- Maintain professional communication with customers via telephone, documenting sales activities for review.
- Respond promptly and professionally to all customer inquiries, ensuring a high level of service.
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance work processes and improve overall efficiency.
- Prioritize tasks effectively to meet business objectives.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with company policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous sales experience and foundational knowledge of electrical products are preferred.
- Strong work ethic, professionalism, and reliability are essential.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to learn quickly and build strong relationships with customers.
- Proficient in computer usage, with typing skills of 35-50 words per minute.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional interaction with colleagues and vendors.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Associate Degree or relevant post-secondary coursework in Electrical is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sales experience and basic electrical knowledge are advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications is required.
