Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Support Specialist Senior to join our team at the University of Missouri-Columbia. This is a critical role that requires exceptional administrative support, technical expertise, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Department Chair, Faculty, and Graduate and Undergraduate Students, ensuring seamless operations and effective communication.
  • Assist with appointments, scheduling meetings, and events, as well as respond to routine inquiries and faculty meetings.
  • Manage departmental seminars, meetings, events, annual retreats, holiday parties, and monthly faculty meetings, ensuring smooth logistics and coordination.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, process payments, and manage office supplies, equipment, and shipping accounts.
  • Complete expense spreadsheets, assist with financial statements, and verify reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Support Graduate and Undergraduate student applications, enter department decisions, and assist with promotions and tenure processes.
  • Submit requests for services, including printing, maintenance, renovation, and building services, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, with comparable knowledge and skills.
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures, as well as PeopleSoft skills, including HR and Fiscal.
  • Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, as well as working knowledge of myZou and Canvas.
