Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our interdisciplinary team at Compass Health Network. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in promoting recovery and wellness among individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sharing Lived Experiences: Share your personal experiences of recovery and support individuals in their own recovery journeys.
  • Recovery Tools and Behaviors: Model successful recovery behaviors and support individuals in using recovery tools.
  • Resilience and Strengths: Help individuals recognize their capacity for resilience and identify their strengths.
  • Community Connection: Assist individuals in connecting with their community and accessing resources.
  • Treatment Planning: Participate in treatment planning and provide input on client Wellness Plans.
  • Training and Certification: Complete state-approved training and certification programs to maintain ongoing certification as a Certified Peer Specialist.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Experience: Must self-identify as a current or former consumer of behavioral health, substance use, or co-occurring disorder services.
  • Certification: Must complete a state-approved training program and pass a standardized examination to become a Certified Peer Specialist.
  • License: A valid driver's license and agency-established minimum automobile coverage required.
