Job Summary:

The Assembly Technician will be responsible for accurately assembling, inspecting, and packing small, medium, and large injection molded protective cases using a variety of hand tools, fixtures, and work instructions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble parts according to verbal and SOP work instructions and document required information.
  • Perform visual and in-process inspections of parts during the manufacturing process to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Pack completed product into boxes with customized labels to ensure identification and traceability to customer requirements.
  • Perform re-inspection, re-work, sorting, and cleaning of plastic parts as requested.
  • Rotate through different tasks on the assembly line.
  • Operate auxiliary equipment such as drilling fixtures and pin installation fixtures.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Return all equipment to storage designated area upon work completion.
  • May assist in the training of new Operators.
  • Follow company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement.
  • Follow safety guidelines and procedures in accordance with the job.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Willing to be cross-trained in different tasks.
  • Must rotate throughout Manufacturing Cases and Component Molding.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for an entire shift and have manual dexterity.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks and follow manufacturing procedures.
  • Ability to work with a safety-first culture and adhere to all safety requirements at all times.
  • Must be able to effectively work within a team environment.

  • Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Supervisor or Molding Lead.
  • Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime.
  • Must be able to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
