Position Summary:

The Electrical Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly and installation of components and materials according to detailed work instructions and verbal guidance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and install drive train, mechanical, and chassis components in accordance with specified work instructions.
  • Possess knowledge of truck air systems, including airline routing, air bags, brake valves, and leveling valves.
  • Adhere to both verbal and written directives for task completion.
  • Verify the proper functionality of all assembled components and systems.
  • Identify and assist in resolving issues stemming from engineering or design discrepancies.
  • Engage in continuous self-assessment during shifts, proposing enhancements for operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace while optimizing the use of available space.
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
  • Operate and perform preventive maintenance on warehouse vehicles and equipment.
  • Comply with quality service standards and adhere to established procedures, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in electronics or electrical assembly.
  • Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics; ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions.
  • Experience with hand tools, air tools, battery-operated tools, voltmeters, and other equipment.
  • Competence in using measuring instruments to meet specified tolerances.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Commitment to following quality standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Capacity to learn processes swiftly, adapt to changes, and implement new procedures.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or automotive fields is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of standing are required.
  • Must be able to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and crawl.
  • Regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs; frequently lift and move up to 30 lbs; occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to see and adjust visual focus at varying distances; peripheral vision, depth perception, and color differentiation are essential.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
Work Environment:
  • Exposure to high noise levels is expected.
  • Potential exposure to caustic fluids and fumes.
  • Operation of machinery necessitates the use of safety equipment, including eye protection, hearing protection, work boots, and hard hats.
  • Loose clothing and jewelry are prohibited.
  • Position may involve operating a motor vehicle and working outdoors.

Compensation and Benefits:

The compensation for this role ranges from $18 to $20 per hour. Employees typically work a 40-hour week. GreenPower provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and prescription drug plans, a flexible benefits plan, a 401(K) retirement savings plan, life and disability insurance, paid holidays, paid vacation, and tuition reimbursement.

Salary Range:

$18 to $20 per hour.
