Job Overview

Objective: Oversee all inventory management and procurement activities for the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize Health & Safety as the foremost objective by adhering to established protocols and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Administer purchasing, storage, and inventory operations to guarantee a consistent supply of materials.
  • Generate, categorize, and process purchase orders using the designated ERP system.
  • Manage the ordering and scheduling of deliveries for all operational materials and inventory restocking.
  • Stay informed about market trends, pricing, suppliers, and delivery conditions to forecast future material availability; align purchasing strategies with corporate procurement initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain optimal inventory levels for stock items.
  • Implement and uphold a robust cycle counting program, conducting root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies.
  • Prepare accurate month-end inventory reports.
  • Ensure the storeroom and warehouse are organized and maintained in a clean state.
  • Develop and sustain vendor relationships to secure reliable sources for goods and services.
  • Execute the overarching purchasing strategy to promote cost-saving measures, enhance supplier quality, and improve supplier performance.
  • Consolidate and optimize company expenditures across all departments to minimize total cost of ownership.
  • Review and negotiate contracts to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Engage in corporate procurement initiatives and contribute to the Center of Excellence.
  • Maintain location-specific standard operating procedures related to financial systems and processes.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers to address issues related to delivery, quality, pricing, or terms of sale.
  • Collaborate with corporate teams on accounts payable matters.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams for supplier onboarding and preferred supplier programs.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop personnel within the purchasing and storeroom functions.
  • Audit financial reports concerning budgeted versus actual expenditures as required.
  • Undertake special projects or additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.


Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing and inventory management within a manufacturing setting is required, along with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.


Skills and Competencies: Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Word and Excel. Experience with ERP systems is essential. Strong negotiation, organizational, and time management skills are necessary. Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, are required. A professional demeanor and adaptability to a dynamic work environment are essential.
