In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients suffering from rheumatic diseases and musculoskeletal issues. Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients with rheumatic conditions, which include detailed medical histories, physical examinations, and the analysis of diagnostic tests.
- Diagnosis and Management: Precisely identify and create tailored treatment strategies for patients with ailments such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, lupus, gout, ankylosing spondylitis, and other autoimmune or inflammatory disorders.
- Pharmaceutical Oversight: Prescribe and oversee the administration of suitable medications, including disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), biologics, pain relief medications, and other therapeutic options.
- Patient Instruction: Inform patients about their conditions, available treatment choices, and self-management techniques to enhance their quality of life and effectively handle their health issues.
- Collaborative Healthcare: Work alongside multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and orthopedic specialists, to provide comprehensive care for patients.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or Board Eligible in Rheumatology.
- Licensed in the state of Oregon or eligibility to obtain licensure.
