Procurement Specialist

As a key member of our supply chain management team, you will be responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, equipment, and services at the most favorable terms for Inpria.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet business needs
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure adequate flow of materials to meet production needs
- Prepare and distribute reports for various business departments
- Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data to determine reasonable prices
- Formulate policies and procedures for bid proposals and procurement of goods and services
- Maintain and review computerized or manual records of purchased items, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories
- Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history
- Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action
- Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes
- Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and resolve problems related to undelivered goods
- Write and review product specifications, maintaining a working technical knowledge of the goods or services to be purchased
- Monitor changes affecting supply and demand, tracking market conditions, price trends, or futures markets
- Develop and maintain SOP documentation for key procurement processes
- BS/BA Degree in Materials Management, Business, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
- 5 years of experience in purchasing or buyer experience
- APICS certification preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure in a high-paced work environment
- Positive attitude, excellent communication skills, self-motivator, and superior organization skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain, and improve procurement processes
- Strong knowledge of inventory and supply chain management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel to visit both domestic and foreign suppliers
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed; expected travel
