- Set and maintain optimal inventory levels for all stock items.
- Implement a robust cycle counting program and conduct root cause analysis on discrepancies in inventory.
- Prepare and maintain accurate month-end inventory reports.
- Ensure the storeroom and warehouse are kept clean and organized.
- Develop and sustain relationships with vendors to secure reliable sources for goods and services.
- Execute the overarching purchasing strategy to promote cost-saving measures, enhance supplier quality, and improve supplier performance.
- Consolidate and leverage company expenditures across various departments and locations to minimize total cost of ownership.
- Review and negotiate contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and departmental standards.
- Engage in corporate procurement initiatives as part of the Center of Excellence.
- Maintain standard operating procedures related to financial systems and processes.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to address issues concerning delivery, quality, pricing, or sales conditions.
- Collaborate with corporate teams to resolve accounts payable matters.
- Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams for supplier onboarding and to identify corporate preferred suppliers.
- Lead, mentor, and develop personnel within the purchasing and storeroom teams.
- Prepare management reports comparing budgeted versus actual expenditures as required.
- Undertake special projects or additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing and inventory management within a manufacturing setting is required, along with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
Skills and Competencies: Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Word and Excel. Experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft is essential. Strong negotiation skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and meticulous attention to detail are necessary. Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, along with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. A professional demeanor and appearance are expected. Familiarity with chemicals and maintenance processes is advantageous. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multifaceted work environment and manage diverse assignments while assisting with special projects.
