Overview:
The Senior Account Executive for Industrial OE is tasked with overseeing and enhancing the sales performance of designated accounts within the Agriculture and Construction sectors. This role encompasses maintaining and expanding market presence while identifying and nurturing new business opportunities, all aligned with JTEKT/Koyo's strategic sales objectives through a comprehensive Annual Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
The primary focus of this position is to advocate for and sell JTEKT/Koyo products to John Deere, managing existing accounts and driving sales growth. This role serves as the global liaison for JTEKT/Koyo, facilitating coordination between John Deere's purchasing team and various JTEKT/Koyo divisions.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Engaging directly with John Deere representatives to negotiate pricing and address issues related to delivery and quality for both new and existing accounts on a global scale.
  • Innovating new product concepts, including bearing selection and navigating the product approval/design process.
  • Establishing strong relationships with John Deere's purchasing, quality, engineering, and management teams to fortify JTEKT/Koyo's market position.
  • Strategically nurturing relationships with current clients while actively seeking new business opportunities.
  • Conducting monthly global account meetings with all regions involved with John Deere.
  • Formulating business development strategies to meet or exceed annual sales forecasts.
  • Guiding JTEKT/Koyo and John Deere through complex and politically sensitive situations independently.
  • Managing RFQs, drawing requests, sample requests, and PPAP requests as needed.
  • Proactively identifying and communicating customer needs to corporate to ensure uninterrupted production and operations.
  • Facilitating on-site visits to JTEKT/Koyo's engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing teams.
  • Timely updating call reports and internal systems with professionalism and clarity.
  • Participating in relevant industry associations, trade organizations, and attending trade shows as necessary.
  • Engaging in regional and national sales meetings as required.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues in the sales organization and corporate personnel.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred: 15 years of experience as an outside sales representative for a bearing manufacturer or a Tier-1 company in the powertrain sector, specifically targeting Industrial OE and/or Auto OE accounts.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to articulate and understand technical concepts.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on quality and customer service.
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working effectively from a remote office; experience in remote work is preferred.
  • Experience in Industrial OE or Automotive OE sectors.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, multicultural environment using effective interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, business planning, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and other CRM tools.
Education and Experience:
  • Preferred: Mechanical Engineering degree; however, a BS/BA in Business Administration, Industrial Technology, or Industrial Distribution is required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience as a sales account manager.

  • This position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas, necessitating the use of prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Travel by automobile and airplane may be required up to 50% of the time.
