About This Role
We are in search of a Vice President of Strategic Partnerships. This executive-level role in business development and sales is focused on cultivating robust relationships with both potential and current clients in the industrial sector, as well as industry collaborators. The position involves assessing client requirements, crafting service proposals, finalizing sales, and ensuring a seamless transition of these sales to the relevant teams for the delivery of energy efficiency and decarbonization solutions across industrial enterprises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall business strategy and execute tactical sales plans to enhance the sales of decarbonization and energy efficiency services to corporate industrial organizations nationwide.
  • Engage with senior leadership of clients to identify and secure new business opportunities by understanding their sustainability and decarbonization goals.
  • Expand existing client relationships to include additional services, products, and facilities.
  • Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with other companies to create additional market channels and enhance Cascade's value proposition.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Energy Management team to devise strategies for gaining insights into potential customers and identifying optimal service offerings.
  • Implement sales best practices, including timely follow-ups, documented communications, team collaboration, and effective pipeline management.
  • Contribute to proposal submissions by providing relevant program data, statistics, and innovative suggestions for service enhancements.
  • Maintain and cultivate positive, ongoing client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction from initiation through to handoff to the delivery team.
  • Work with the Customer Engagement and Market Development teams to prioritize marketing and sales initiatives that showcase Cascade's services and successes.
  • Utilize customer-facing staff to convert utility-funded service clients into corporate-direct service clients.
  • Represent Cascade as a subject matter expert at industry conferences and events, participating as a speaker when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Strategy and Products team to share insights on customer needs and challenges to aid in the development of new services, including software and technology solutions.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business development and/or selling complex professional services to senior leaders of multi-site organizations.
  • Proven skills in problem-solving and negotiation, with a strong emphasis on closing sales.
  • Project management experience, ideally within the energy efficiency sector or a related field.

Successful candidates will also demonstrate:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, comfortable engaging with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • An understanding of the sales process for professional services in corporate environments, including common barriers and strategies to navigate them.
  • Strong sales and business development skills, including formal presentation capabilities before diverse audiences.
  • A solid understanding of client financial metrics and the ability to leverage these metrics to advocate for projects.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in areas such as decarbonization strategies, energy management services, energy efficiency, ESG consulting, and technical consulting.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with both clients and internal teams.
  • Experience in budget development and management.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and the ability to quickly adapt to new software tools.
